Elaine Burgess

Hi, my name is Elaine Burgess and I am a person in long term recovery and a peer recovery coach. I have lived in Austin since ’95 and was that party girl, music scenester person, I came to Communities for Recovery to learn how to be in this town sober, soon after I was hired as a front desk person. I decided to train as a coach to better serve in the recovery community. I have now been at CforR for 3 years. I am a active in both visual arts and music and have been exploring using these mediums to enhance fellowship and communication in recovery. Recently I adopted a chihuahua and she has become my partner as we adventure all the trails and waterways. I still go to shows and make the scene, I’m just do it sober now and my friends like me better this way.
