Phil Owen
Peer Recovery Program Manager

“From pig city to big city” is my story in a nutshell. Having grown up on a small ranch outside of Austin and enjoying an almost lifelong career in punk rock I used to believe that my relationship with drugs was part of my job description. Along that path harm reduction was introduced to me and I believe it was a step into recovery and kept me alive to enjoy the life I have today. I founded the Austin Area Opioid Workgroup and currently facilitate trainings, work with peers and other coaches as well as host a podcast for Communities for Recovery’s YouTube channel.
