Peer Recovery Coach Institute
The Peer Recovery Coach Institute (PRCI) is a five-day training designed for people with lived experience in recovery from substance use who would like to support others as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS), generally referred to as a “peer recovery coach,” or simply “recovery coach.” This training provides a basic understanding of the core competencies of a recovery coach such as strength-based goal planning, social support, and linkage to services, to build recovery capital. As a participant you will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a recovery coach as well as the steps to obtain supervised internship and certification. Special emphasis is placed on ethical responsibility and cultural competency. The cost for the training is $320.
