Bison Fire Wellbriety Circle

August 11, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This is an **IN-PERSON** meeting.

“Tomorrow, we invite you to meet our special guest, Monique Anne, a proud member of the Choctaw and Yaqui Native communities, who has devoted her life to fostering unity and growth among indigenous nations. After spending the last 8 years on the Rosebud Reservation, Monique has returned to Texas, bringing with her a wealth of experience. During her time on the reservation, she contributed to the Lakota nation by assisting in the creation of gardens and providing mentorship to young individuals and community members grappling with poverty, abuse, and addiction.
Monique’s journey led her to become a clinical herbalist, earning her credentials from the Texas Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine. She is currently collaborating with a master gardener to cultivate and sustain vegetation, aiming to offer nourishing dishes in her role as a sous chef at Driftwood Recovery. Monique will be sharing her inspiring tales of resilience, bravery, and strength, as she too navigates her personal path to recovery, overcoming alcoholism and domestic violence. Please join us as we listen to her remarkable story.”

Wellbriety is the Native American recovery fellowship. Its method of recovery is focused on healing and belongs to the individuals that attend. People of all backgrounds are warmly welcomed. The meetings are not about “fixing” other people. They are about creating new thought patterns, new attitudes, and new feelings about yourself. In addition, participants share their insights and experiences in the Talking Circle. Join certified facilitators Tiffany and Yesenia to learn about how Native American teachings can inform your recovery lifestyle!
