We are grateful for the people of Austin. Everyone I have talked with this week has been focused on taking care of the community and striving to make things happen as fast as possible during this ever changing situation. At Communities for Recovery we have worked to pull together our daily recovery support services in a video and telephone format. We appreciate your patience and we hope you will join us.
Peer support is the connection of persons with lived experience in recovery to persons seeking to achieve or sustain recovery. Science has shown that social support is vital in building the resources to sustain recovery. Peer support can come in several forms, one-on-one, groups, direct, and indirect.
