Communities for Recovery is dedicated to building a strong and healthy recovery community in Austin, Texas and beyond. We support long-term recovery for people with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions by partnering within our community to provide peer-supported recovery programs and services.

At Communities for Recovery, we say give to keep. Whether you are in early recovery, later recovery, or simply want to support others in their recovery journeys, there is a place for you at Communities for Recovery. At our core we are a safe place, an oasis of support and acceptance for anyone struggling with substance use or mental health.

Our Goals

Support Individuals In Their Recovery test
Peer recovery program, support groups and meetings, educational workshops, health and wellness classes, a career closet, a computer lab, and connections to other community resources such as housing and employment.
Create a Strong Recovery Community
Connect community members with meaningful service work and with each other.
Advocate for Systems Change That Supports Recovery
Collaborate with partners and policy makers to raise awareness about recovery and develop large-scale solutions for our community.

Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to support others in their recovery journeys, and strengthen your sobriety too?

Give to Keep by Volunteering at CforR

Volunteers serve as peer recovery coaches, staff the community center and café, teach classes and workshops, and serve in leadership roles in our organization. We’ll work with you to discover your passion and how you can give it back to others.
